Check out my reviews for the previous books in this series, A Court of Thorns and Roses here and A Court of Mist and Fury here.
This book picks up as Feyre returns to the Spring Court with Tamlin, but not under the circumstances that Tamlin thinks. Feyre is now working “undercover” so to speak to assist with destroying the Spring Court from the inside while in the Night Court, the Inner Circle is preparing for war. Hybern is working overtime to obtain access to Prythian.
This book really shows Feyre coming into her own not only in her own powers that she gained after becoming Fae, but also into her role as High Lady of the Night Court. She works hard to maintain a balance between the “royalty” and Fae she became and the human woman she was/still is, in some ways. I also love that her relationships with everyone in the Inner Circle is so awesome - they support each other but also call each other out on the bullshit or if something one of them does or wants to do is a bad idea.
The letters of this title spell out ACOWAR, which should be telling that this story ends with war in Prythian. Feyre has to come to terms with the very real costs of war and how she will have to cope and process sacrifices that have to be made.
I don’t want to give away too much because this series is seriously amazing and I want you to go pick these books up.
