As someone who is on the go and works an off shift, finding healthy snacks that will fill me up but aren't packed with tons of junk can get difficult.

I was super excited to put the Health Warrior Chia Bars to the test. In addition, they sent over a Marathon Training coloring book - we all now how calming coloring can be, especially during a hard training cycle!

I got the chocolate peanut butter and vanilla almond flavors, but there are tons of others to try, such as apple cinnamon, acai berry, banana nut, caramel sea salt, dark chocolate cherry, coconut, dark chocolate, and mango.

Each flavor is packed with all that good-for-you stuff.

For instance, the vanilla almond has: 4 grams of protein, 4 grams of fiber, 7 grams of fat, and 1000 mg of Omega-3's. The chocolate peanut butter has 3 grams of protein, 4 grams of fiber, 6 grams of fat, and 1060 mg of Omega-3's. That's not to say that these delicious treats don't have sugar; vanilla almond has 4 grams, chocolate peanut butter has 5 grams.

I don't know about you, but I'd rather get my sugar with all that other healthy stuff than from a candy bar (most days, anyways - don't ask me that question after a 3-day stretch of 12-hour night shifts!).

I'm not sure how many people know this (especially if you're just passing through or new to my blog) but I'm a Registered Nurse in a very busy Emergency Department Observation unit at a level 1 trauma center and I work night shift (mostly). Which means that I usually don't get time to have a full lunch break. These bars are the perfect size to put in my scrub jacket pocket and devour when I have a few free moments.

I will give you a fair warning - those chia seeds DO get stuck in your teeth! I have a permanent retainer behind my lower front teeth and that's where they like to congregate, hang out, start a club, etc. I've found they're fairly easy to dislodge with either a swish and spit of water or a quick round of teeth brushing.

A super fun addition to getting the bars was the Marathon Training coloring book. I've recently gotten into coloring as a form of relaxation (I may or may not have a collection of several coloring books in my living room) and I enjoyed snacking on a chia bar and picking a page to color in.

If you place an order of bars, you can get a coloring book with your order through this link.
