New Beginnings

One week ago today, I said goodbye to my best furry friend, Riley. 

Last Thursday, after two days of feeling so heartbroken and dreading being home in an empty house, B and I welcomed a new member into our family.

Meet Arthur!

Our new puppy is a 2 month old Australian Cattle Dog/Terrier mix that we rescued from the Wisconsin Humane Society. He and his three littermates were brought to Wisconsin from Arkansas (probably from a kill shelter) to be given a chance at a wonderful and love-filled life!

Arthur is helping my broken heart heal immensely. Just hearing him running around and having a dog to interact with has distracted me and kept me from the crazy amount of crying I had been doing. While no dog could ever replace Riley in my heart, I felt that the best way to honor his memory was to give another dog a loving home.

It has been a long time since I've had a puppy to train and Arthur is proving to be smart and a challenge! I can't wait to see what he can do!
