What I’m Loving - January

And thus concludes the first month of 2023. I’ve committed to making some real, meaningful changes this year in several aspects, including really trying to beef up my commitment to this little blog. I’ve got plans for outfit posts, book reviews, and some travel content from B’s and my trip to London and Paris coming up. I appreciate greatly you visiting my little corner of the internet!

Watching:

I have been following Jenni Yolo on Instagram for the past several years. She is a local Milwaukee DIY-er who renovates homes to turn into AirBnbs and does design consulting. She recently got her own show on the Magnolia Network doing 3-day room makeovers in Milwaukee. I love that she does things that are aesthetically pleasing but still relatively simple especially for people new to DIY and she showcases a lot of awesome local Milwaukee businesses, including some of my favorite antique stores!

Reading:

Sleeping Beauty is one of my favorite childhood fairy tales and when I saw this series on the shelf at Target I knew I had to pick this one up. I have just started it but so far really like it. Once Upon a Dream starts with the king and queen being the evil ones and Maleficent saving the day. There are a total of 14 novels in this series, all about different Disney fairy tales and written by different authors. I’m also looking forward to the Beauty and the Beast version, As Old As Time.

Eating:

B was craving a taste of Paris, so we spent one Saturday morning doing brunch at one of our favorite restaurants, Le Reve. Located in Wauwatosa, WI, it is an amazing little bistro style restaurant that has a small-ish but amazing menu of delicious French-inspired food. B really wanted a Croque Monsieur, while I had the Ham and Brie Benedict. I also got an amazing rosemary and grapefruit mimosa, which was crisp and refreshing. They also have an absolutely to die for pastry case, so don’t pass that up!
