2023 - The Year of Manifestation

I can’t believe that it has been three years since the world changed so drastically. Something that the pandemic taught me, especially over the past year, is that nothing is guaranteed and at the end of the day, what matters most is the health and happiness of my nearest and dearest as well as myself.

The last year brought a lot of changes and new experiences. I have been in the Cath Lab for 1 year and last June, resigned from the Emergency Department. That was a very hard step for me to take; as a nurse, what usually happens is that you are defined by what you specialize in and I even still feel like an ED nurse. I also had a very difficult time losing the team of people that I worked with there - those bonds are forged in triumph as well as trauma. I am grateful that a lot of my friends have stayed in touch despite my leaving and for that I am lucky.

Another effect of leaving the ED and having a somewhat normal schedule ( I say somewhat because I’m still working night shift) with weekends off has given me a greater work/life balance, which is so different from what I had at my previous job. I really love always having designated days off and being able to spend time with my family, go out of town, work on house projects, etc.

I look forward to the year ahead and building my little corner of the internet here, sharing what I love and inspires me as well as inspiring nurses to explore their creativity and to get out of the box that the traditional view of nursing puts them in.

I can’t wait to share more and I’m thankful for each of you that reads here!
