New Year, New Habits
Over the past several years, I have become more interested in the practice of tarot card reading, crystal usage, and journaling. Starting this year, I decided to start off each month doing a tarot card pull (I stick to three cards, since that’s a little easier for me to interpret as a beginner) and also using crystals more in my home to help set the energy that I want.
Tarot and crystals have been around for a millenia soI feel like there has to be something there, right?
My tarot deck is from the amazingly talented Dreamy Moons, but you can also find the OG tarot deck on Amazon.
I’ve tried several different journaling practices, but I always get pretty overwhelmed and then guilty if I miss days. This year, I decided to give The Five Minute Journal a try. I appreciate that it is undated so if you skip any days, you can just pick up on the next day you decide to write and it has some good quotes and prompts as well to get the mental juices flowing.
I found, especially working through COVID in 2020 in the Emergency Department, that identifying small things that made me grateful really made a huge difference in the state of my mental health and anxiety. Developing a daily gratitude or journaling practice is something I recommend to many people who deal with anxiety.
Do you have a daily journaling practice or use tarot cards? Let me know in the comments!
