Hello 2022.

Door County, WI in July 2021

Did anyone else feel some trepidation about the new year? The end of 2020 I was all psyched to get rid of that hellscape of time and very much embraced the whole “its a new year, 2021 will be different!” and it brought change in more ways than I could imagine. Primarily, the change I made to step away from emergency medicine due to burnout and profound moral injury.

So as we enter into 2022, I have been very conscious and purposeful about goal setting for the new year. But I’ve also never been the kind of person who gets all hung up on things like New Year’s resolutions and all that. I personally just like to use them as a guide/reminder for the year ahead.

I don’t have many goals but figured I would share them here:

  • read 25 new books (this means not counting re-reads, as there are some series that I re-read each year)

  • travel to 3 new places in Wisconsin (namely Wisconsin State Parks)

  • finish upstairs renovations

  • take 1 international trip

  • consistently write in my gratitude journal

I’m also aiming to be more active both here and on Instagram, as I feel that I need some sort of outlet that isn’t completely related to my career as a nurse. So look out for some outfit posts, book reviews, and travel content coming to this space!
