My Book Of The Month Experience
I will fully admit, I fell for the Instagram advertising on this one! After seeing Book Of The Month ads pop up pretty consistently on Instagram then seeing a friend of mine post about her BotM selections, I decided to give it a go.
I am amazed at the variety of books available. Each month, there are 5 books to choose from and across all genres - horror, sci-fi/fantasy, nonfiction, fiction, historical fiction, romance - just to name a few. It is easy to skip months if none of the books catch your eye. There's also an extremely large variety of additional books to choose from across all genres including books that were in the past offered as a BotM, early releases of anticipated titles, and more.
My first two boxes that I received, I chose my book of the month as well as another add-on book. My May choice was The Paris Hours, which is historical fiction and takes place in early 1900s Paris and added on Little Fires Everywhere, which was book that was on my "Interested In" list for awhile. So when I saw that they made it into a TV series, I wanted to read the book first.
For June, my book pick was The Vanishing Half, which is about two sister who are twins and the drastically different paths their lives take. It got really good reviews online so I definitely jumped on making it my monthly pick. I also added a copy of Untamed by Glennon Doyle because so many of my friends have raved about it.
I really like being able to pick some new books and support lesser known authors while getting exposure to new books and new to me authors. I'll be updating this space with reviews once I've read these books - hopefully you can find one that you would be interested in reading!
