Running the Milwaukee Lakefront Marathon with Team WHS

I'm running a marathon!

Run all the miles, pet all the dogs. #goals

After hemming and hawing for a good week or two, I bit the bullet and signed up for my first road marathon, the Milwaukee Lakefront Marathon that takes place on October 6th this year. This is year number 39 for this race and it is put on by Milwaukee's Badgerland Striders, which is Wisconsin's largest running club and dates back to 1959.

For additional motivation for training (and hopefully a mentally better marathon experience than my first one!) I'm going to be running on Team WHS (Wisconsin Humane Society) who is a new charity partner for the Lakefront Marathon this year. All funds raised by team runners go directly to helping homeless animals in our area as well as developing and continuing community programs. As many readers of this blog know, my dog Arthur was adopted from the Wisconsin Humane Society - Ozaukee Campus when he was 12 weeks old. WHS gave him a chance and I'm forever grateful, as he's just the best dog. He will also be training with me, which I think he is less than thrilled about!

If you are interested in helping me get to my $500 fundraising goal, you can find my donation page here!

I will be posting updates on my training on my Instagram.

My sweatshirt is from Sarah Marie Design Studio.
