Oh man. This race = my jam. If you've followed this blog for awhile (thanks!), you know that I've done this race the last two years and it is hands down one of my favorite races ever. The North Face puts a lot of effort and thought behind creating a race weekend that promotes an atmosphere of celebration and support for all the runners and spectators as well.
Some of my favorite parts of this event weekend:
- Staff from TNF make sure that the vibe is great for both runners and spectators.
- There are booths from local organizations (like Team RWB) and races (Kenosha Running Company was there last year!) as well as a TNF store tent and a swag tent (last year I won a hat!)
- The team at TNF does a fantastic job of integrating social media and interacting with runners on Twitter and Instagram.
- Aid stations have enthusiastic and motivating volunteers.
- Kettle Moraine is such a beautiful place to run in general.
TNF has also taken a stance on the Clean Sport initiative, which I think is awesome. The more that races, RDs, and athletes support this initiative, the better for the sport of running.
