Brewers Mini Race Recap

Okay, so this race recap is over week later, but better late than never, right?

This was the fourth year for the Brewers Mini, still partnering with the MACC Fund to help raise money to research childhood cancer and blood disorders (and the MACC fund is part of Children's Hospital, which is awesome, not that I'm biased or anything LOL)

Packet pick-up was at Miller Park both Thursday and Friday before the race. All participants got a voucher for a 2016 Brewers game as well as a bobblehead from this past season in their goody bags. as always, the volunteers are super awesome and happy.

There isn't really much of an expo (especially compared to the Summerfest Rock 'n Sole race) but Performance Running Outfitters had a booth along with two or three other races and then the Brewers had an official Brewers Mini merch booth. I had ordered the "in training" shirt and a 1/4 zip pullover that I received last spring.

I also got a 13.1 sticker for my car. Cuz I'm that person with tons of stuff on the back of my vehicle.

On race morning, I woke up around 4:30 am. I never sleep well the night before a race and since B was out of town, I had to drive myself there. I rocked my Oiselle singlet for this race (well, my whole outfit besides my compression leg sleeves were from Oiselle) and of course took a selfie with Arthur.

Arthur hates 5 am selfies.

Super dark in the parking lot at 5:45 am

Parking is free and each race packet has a map of the lots they want runners and spectators to park in.  All the lots are on the north side of the stadium so that it's easy to get back on the freeway/out of the lots after the race. These lots are also basically right next to the start/finish line.

I did arrive very early, since I usually like to use the facilities before the race a few times (I'm a coffee-before-racing person, so I need to pee several times before the start). Miller Park was open for people to get warm before the race began. It was only in the 50's that early, so being able to warm up was nice!

Race Day Outfit details:
Oiselle Singlet
Oiselle Mac Roga shorts
UV Half Buff in Stadi Fuchsia
Plantronics BackBeat Fit Bluetooth Headphones
ArmPocket Racer Armband
Asics Gel-Cumulus 17's
PROCompression calf sleeves and low socks (similar)

I feel that there were definitely more hills than in previous years, but I overheard some of the pacers saying that some of the route had to be changed because of construction. The course is well-supported with aid stations every 1.5-2 miles with water and Gatorade and AWESOME volunteers!

There was definitely more food available for runners in the Finisher's Chute than there has been in past years. Water, Bonk Bars, cookies, bananas, protein shakes, chips, and then of course the medal are all given to all the runners.

The Finish Line Party featured a results tent as well as a massage tent (for the runners), food and beer, Brewers Mini merchandise tent, and live music.

Exiting the parking lot was very easy, which is more than I can say for other races I've ran around here. I cannot count how many times I've gotten stuck in a lot or area because of poor planning.

Arthur likes to rock my bling.

I love running this race, especially when you get to run on the field through Miller Park! I'll be back next year for sure!
