Runner's World Summer 2015 RunStreak!

Last summer, I successfully participated in the Runner's World summer challenge, which asks you to run at least one mile every day from Memorial Day until July 4th.

I love doing this challenge, mostly because summer is my busiest racing season and it really pushes me to get out and get my miles in. This year has been rather challenging for me as far as motivation is concerned since my running season ended so abruptly last fall (thank you, multiple car accidents and a messed up knee) and I need to refocus so that I can PR at least once this summer!

Yesterday I got out and did a quick 1.12-ish miles (I'm guesstimating that distance since my Garmin died halfway through...I should probably charge it on the regular, LOL) and it felt so good to just get my running stuff on, get some tunes going, and just GO. It was a little hot and humid and I kinda felt like crap afterwards. But I got the mile in and that was incredibly satisfying.

I'm also working harder on keeping myself accountable for my running training. I've gotten very lax with it and I need to get back into my groove.

I have included the Facebook page for the Run Streak above and if you are in need of running motivation or just love to discuss anything running-related, you can always join the BibRave Pros for #Bibchat every Tuesday night at 9pmEST/8pmCST on Twitter!
