May Birchbox

After receiving the wrong box this month (Birchbox customer support is amazing and sent out the correct box right away!) I finally got the products I was supposed to get! I was mostly excited for my Birchbox Sample Choice, a product by Macadamia that I have used in the past and LOVE!

This month, Birchbox partnered with Emily Schuman from Cupcakes and Cashmere to curate products that she loves to share with Birchbox subscribers.

In my box:

Coastal Scents Revealed 3 Eyeshadow Quad

What: Versatile range of satiny-smooth shadows in wear-with-anything hues.
How: Sweep preferred shade over lids for the day. Layer shadows for a more dramatic night look.

Harvey Prince Yogini

What: This stress-dissolving scent mixes light, crisp notes of grapefruit with star jasmine.
How: Run a few drops between your palms, take a deep breath, and enjoy a mini aromatherapy break.

Macadamia Professional Nourishing Moisture Oil Treatment

What: Loaded with antioxidants, this lightweight formula hydrates hair and boosts shine.
How: Rub a few drops between your palms. Smooth over mid lengths to ends of damp or dry hair.

Marcelle Hydra-C 24H Energizing Gel

What: Lightweight, vitamin-packed hydrator that brightens skin and goes on cucumber-cool.
How: Smooth onto face morning, night, or whenever skin feels dry.

Smashbox Cosmetics Photo Finish Primer Water

What: Hydrating, electrolyte-infused mist that revitalizes, preps skin, and helps lock in makeup.
How: Hold 8-10 inches from face and mist over skin before and after makeup application.

If you have never tried anything by Macadamia, I would highly suggest you high-tail it to anywhere near you that sells it and pick one of the products up. Not only do they make your hair feel amazing, but the SMELL. OH.MY.GAWD. is AWESOME. The bottle of oil is a very generous size, so it will last a long time.
I've received other Revealed mini palettes and I would liken then to the Naked palettes from Urban decay. Nice variety of shades in very wearable colors. These little samples are perfect for travel, since they cover the basics in a tiny little package. :)
In the past I have tried other primer waters (from both Urban Decay and...another one whose name is escaping me) and I'm interested to try out this one from Smashbox.  The moisturizing gel will be nice to use this summer (might even pop it in the fridge for a few minutes to cool it down before applying!) and the perfume...smells like perfume. LOL.

The box also came with a card that gets you a subscription to Domino magazine for $12 for one year, which is quite the deal since the promos in their little subscription tear-outs say $48 for a year!

Birchbox is a monthly subscription service that puts 4-5 deluxe beauty samples (plus extras!) in your mailbox for just $10 per month! Not only will you get exposed to new and exciting products by brands that may be new to you, but if you love the products you can buy them through Birchbox's website and earn points towards future purchases. You can also leave feedback on products in your box and get 10 points for each piece of feedback. 100 points gets you $10 to spend in the Birchbox shop!
