Birthday Weekend Recap
I spent my weekend celebrating my birthday and Mother's Day. Because being a doggy mom counts, right?!
The birthday celebrations started at Maxie's, one of my favorite restaurants, on Friday night with B and a bunch of our friends. I of course had to have my favorite brisket and we indulged in fried green tomatoes and sweet potatoes fries. Afterwards, we went to a new place that opened for drinks (not impressed) and rolled home WAY too late.
I woke up super early on my birthday morning and made a delicious breakfast of scrambled eggs with veggies, avocado, raspberries, and a big ass cup of coffee. Since I'm now the big 2-8, I should really eat a lot healthier than I do. What's the saying, abs are made in the kitchen, not the gym?
One of my dear friends from work and her daughter found this shirt at a local boutique and said that it reminded them of me :) Cuz I love sloths! The bracelet has beautiful beads and a Buddha head on it.
Saturday afternoon brought Arthur's first swimming lesson and our friends' 1-year old's birthday party with some of the most sugary, delicious cake ever.
Sunday morning B and I spent prepping for our indoor tailgate for Mother's Day. We were going to go tailgate before the Brewers game but the weather was gross and ain't nobody got time for that. So after my requisite cup of coffee, I popped open this delicious beer from Lakefront Brewery and drank it with some chips and salsa (breakfast of champions!)
My older brother and his fiancee gave me this super awesome gift set from Josie Maran that included a creamy oil moisturizer, a multi-use color stick that is the most gorgeous pink color, and a bottle of the Argan Oil Light. I love Josie Maran's products, not only because they are awesome, but they're organic and cruelty free. I'm slowly switching over to as much organic/cruelty free stuff in as many areas of my life as I can.
My little brother (who happens to share my birthday!) got me an entry for a virtual 5 mile run that
Gone For A Run is hosting. I love this, since I'm obviously a Bad Ass Runner :)
I'm happy to have celebrated my 28th birthday with family and friends and to spend Mother's Day with my mom, who somehow survived my teenage years. She's awesome.
Happy Monday, everyone!
