Weekend Recap
You would think that, since last week brought the first day of spring around, that it would warm up around here. Alas, it has still been below freezing most days. The snow is almost gone, but the cold is still hanging around. Which is super annoying.
Anyways, to recap my weekend:
This is what 15 minutes in a dermatologist's office gets you. My doctor has me on an antibiotic to help clear up my skin (I suffer from cystic acne) and that cream (it's called Ziana) and all oil-free/noncomedogenic skincare products. Here's to hoping that this stuff gives me great results, since the antibiotic alone is $100 per 30 day supply; I will be on it for two months.
I ordered a beautiful sequin hanger from Lauren at
Pearls and Pastries and two prints (that I will show later this week once I get frames for them) and it's GORGEOUS! I love that she included confetti in the package; that made it that much more fun to open.
Julep currently has a new color (the one on the left) called
Malala, to honor the young woman who stood up for her education to the Taliban and got shot in the head. This polish retails for $14.99 (or $11.20 if you're a
Julep Maven) and 100% of the proceeds from this polish go towards
The Malala Fund.
The accent nail is Sparkle on Top by Essie.
Saturday night brought an Olivia Pope-style dinner (wine and popcorn FTW) and the viewing of Frozen and Saving Mr. Banks. Both movies were excellent, although I have to say of the two, I liked Frozen better (I'm a sucker for a Disney Pixar movie) and Idina Menzel's voice gives me chills in the best possible way.
Riley's favorite way to snuggle with B is with his booty against B's leg.
For the second time this month, I dragged my tired ass out of bed and to the gym. That's how dedicated I am to my fitness. I also bring my own coffee, because who doesn't drink coffee during a HIIT cardio class?
17 degrees? GTFO WINTER!
This is my new favorite yogurt. Since I will be on antibiotics long-term, I don't want all my good flora in my body wiped out. So, daily yogurts it is!
We celebrated my brother's 30th birthday at Stack'd Burger Bar and I decided to try out their Veggie Black Bean Burger. The sandwich itself was delicious, I just wish they made the patty proportional to the bun so that it doesn't fall apart whilst I'm eating it. Oh, and sweet potato fries are a necessity.
I hope all of you had a lovely weekend.
Happy Monday!
