52 Week Savings Plan

For those of you who haven't noticed this yet in the 3+ years I've been blogging, I love to shop. Actually, I have kind of an addiction to shopping. Which becomes a problem when I try to save up for something (say, a trip or house projects) but then I walk into Target (that black hole!) or the mall and suddenly I need a new bra from Victoria's Secret, some new tops from American Eagle, and a new purse from Coach.

Real talk: I don't NEED any more stuff. Over the course of the past few weeks, I've been cleaning out my closet/office and there is so much clothing and makeup and just STUFF that I simply don't need.

I'm a little bit of a sample junkie (between Birchbox, Sephora, and Ulta, I have enough samples of things to last me a year, I swear!) so I have been putting aside samples that I think my mom and friends will like to give to them.

I have a whole box of unused makeup that I bought for who knows what reason that will be going to my sister-in-law in her Spring Semester Care Package (I send her a care package each semester to brighten her day!)

So now we are in week three, and I have $6 in an envelope on my desk and a calendar printout above my desk with the dollar amounts written in for each week. I also wrote the dollar amounts for each week in my Erin Condren Life Planner as part of my "to do" list for each week.

Here's to being a saver instead of a spender in 2014!
