Weekend Shenanigans!
This past weekend was in some ways, a wash. The Midwest got hit by some terrible storms Saturday and Sunday, which meant that for most of Saturday I was sporting my sweatpants and slippers while cleaning up around the house (in preparation for our third annual Friendgiving this upcoming weekend). Sunday morning was spent watching Scandal on Netflix while B stood on the porch and watched the rain and hail; at one point, we almost went into the basement (tornado warnings make for an eventful morning) but I was watching Scandal and nothing was going to interrupt me. I also hadn't finished my first cup of coffee, which means I wasn't even human yet.
Now that the winds have died down and the rain is gone, it is back to being cold (hovering around 35 degrees) and I decided that I should wear real clothes today. If I was a good blogger, I would include a picture of my current outfit, but I'm on campus for some meetings and an exam and I'm pretty sure all these people would look at me like I was crazy if I started taking selfies in the middle of the hallway.
On Saturday morning before the rain hit, we went to a park near our house to have a friend of ours (Kale!) take our holiday card pictures. This little gem is one of the outtakes...my sweater ended up being covered in mud because I was holding that little ball of mischief. Oh, that's the outfit I'm wearing right now! See?! No need to try to take a selfie at school. Bam.
Okay, this is meant to show you that you are very lucky to not be a nursing student. My nursing school bestie and I were studying for our GI and Neuro exam that we have this afternoon and these are the kinds of things that we need to learn. Is it me or is "rectal" simply not a pleasant word? I know that I work in healthcare and things like that shouldn't bother me, but I just HATE that work. And "angina". Ugh. I hate GI stuff. That's why I don't work in GI. Neuro, though, is my JAM. I got that DOWN. My friend said I was filling her head with too much info because I was adding all sorts of stuff to our power points that we technically don't need to know.
