My Heart Is With Boston

I was sitting in class yesterday when I started seeing weird tweets on Twitter. Opening up the CNN homepage caused a ripple of terror to run through me. Bombing the Boston Marathon? What the hell is going on?! As a runner myself, I feel like this was my family that was harmed.

What was supposed to be a day of joy and accomplishment was turned into a horrific tragedy. My heart and thoughts are with those affected.

I also want to commend those first responders that ran TOWARDS the blast instead of away to help the runners and spectators that were injured. THAT is heroism.

"When I was a boy and I would see scary things in the news, my mother would say to me 'Look for the helpers. You will always find people who are helping.' To this day, especially in times of "disaster", I remember my mother's words and I am always comforted by realizing that there are still so many helpers - so many caring people in the world."
-Fred Rogers (Mr. Rogers)
