Reading:

So, I am aware that this book has bene out for quite awhile. However, my TBR pile is easily 50 books deep so I’m just now getting around to it. After watching The Devil Wears Prada and The September Issue, I’ve been fascinated by the ubiquitous Anna Wintour and her influence on fashion on the level of couture all the way down to those of us who are just trying to dress like a typical Parisian woman (ahem). The book includes some interviews with colleagues, friends, and comments from her partners and ex-partners. I especially loved the insight provided by Grace Coddington (whose biography is next on the list) and André Leon Talley (may he rest in peace). I would highly suggest this book if you are interested in not only fashion but the business behind fashion.

Wearing:

Someday, I will own a Birkin (30 cm, black Togo leather, gold hardware please :) ) but until then, I wanted to try out a piece from Hermes that wouldn’t break the bank (since Birkins from the boutique run in the tens of thousands of dollars). Enter, the Hermes Herbag 31. This is kind of an “entry level” bag that retails for about $2,500, although you can find them on the pre-loved market for easily $1,500 or less. These bags have a canvas body and a leather upper with a style that is very reminiscent of the Kelly bag. I picked this one up from Fashionphile. It’s vintage and came with the black leather body as well as a natural woven body that can be swapped out.

If you stalk the Hermes retail website, they do put some of these up every few days (in the morning, Paris time).

Otherwise, I’ve got some options for you:

Hermes Herbag 31 cm Zip in Rose Lipstick Natural
Hermes Herbag 31 cn Zip in Rouge H Ebene
Hermes Herbag 31 cm Zip in Etoupe Ebene

Watching:

I have never been one to sit down and watch a lot of sports games. If the Brewers are playing and the game is on, I will casually watch. I recently started getting into soccer and like to watch some Premier League games if I wake up early on Saturday mornings. But the past few weeks I have become obsessed with watching the Rugby World Cup. I know very little about the rules and how the game is actually played, but it is insanely entertaining. Of course, I’m rooting for France first, then Wales. The games I believe go through the end of October and I’ve been able to catch most of them on Peacock.
