What I’m Loving - October 2023

Well, it is officially Spooky Season here in southeastern Wisconsin. I was clinging to the last vestiges of summer as we had a little heat wave of 70-80 degree days…then we had rain for a literal straight week. We have one more camping trip coming up before we winterize the camper for the year and then it’s full steam ahead in the holidays, as we are hosting two thanksgivings and then a family Christmas party as well. I’m hoping to share some of our party preparation so stay tuned and follow me on Instagram as well for in the moment sharing!

Reading:

I find Marie Antoinette to be an absolutely fascinating historical figure. Never meant to amount to much as she was once of many daughters of Maria Theresa, yet her stance in world history is amazing. I’ve read other books by this author and she does a great job of providing great historical information. While it is nonfiction and a little dense (as nonfiction tends to be), I am finding it a very interesting read. I have this in paperback but the audiobook version is on sale right now with a discounted Audible membership!

Wearing:

I picked up this J.Crew Factory cardigan on recommendation from Rebecca over at Everyday Parisian and it has been on repeat this month! This exact one has sold out, sadly, but they have a beautiful blue tweed jacket that will be a perfect pop for the winter!

I love that this outfit is simple and classic but still has a little bit of pop with the gold buttons on the cardigan and then I jazz it up with a tchotch-ed up handbag.

Listening:

In honor of the When We Were Young Festival happening in Las Vegas the last couple weekends of this month, one of my coworkers and I have been reliving our youth and listening to all the classics - Sum 41, Simple Plan, The Starting Line, Something Corporate, My Chemical Romance, Senses Fail…and the list goes on. He introduced me to this band, Fame on Fire, by way of this song which is a punk rock cover of Adele’s Hello. It is so good and I’ve been listening to it on repeat.
