What I’m Loving - April

In a weird reversal of the phrase “In like a lion, out like a lamb”, winter in Southeastern Wisconsin has been the exact opposite. We’ve had some wild weather including a few snowstorms and thunderstorms as well as a handful of gorgeous 70-80 degree days. I have been feeling very inspired regarding all the house projects B and I have coming up and I can’t wait for the weather to be better so that we can work on making our yard a beautiful oasis! We have been finishing our inside of the house projects and are having a patio door installed in our kitchen so that we can enjoy our outdoor space so much more easily.

Here’s a few things I’ve been loving for the month of April.

Reading:

A Stolen Child comes out in June 2023!

I’ve been a fan of Sarah Stewart Taylor since the first Maggie D’Arcy mystery she released a few years ago set in Ireland called The Mountains Wild. The series focuses on Maggie, who is a detective on Long Island who, in the first book, tries to solve her cousin’s disappearance and then is presented with other cases in the following books. A Stolen Child is the newest in the series and I was lucky enough to win an ARC from Goodreads. I re-read the first three books in the series and devoured this one as well. If you are as lover of mysteries and Ireland, I would recommend this series!

Watching:

After such a long wait, I’m so happy Ted Lasso is back! Season 3 premiered March 15th and I love being back on the pitch with the Richmond Greyhounds! Seeing Roy Kent again isn’t so bad either ;) If you’ve never watched Ted Lasso, please do yourself a favor and start from the beginning, give it a few episodes - I had to get to episode three before I really fell in love with the story and the characters.

Buying:

I have been on the hunt for some classic yet comfortable ballet flats. Of course, everyone immediately thinks of the Chanel flats that are ever present on the feet of stylish women, but I’m on a budget here and I found this pair from Bloch, who is known for their dance/ballet related footwear/clothing/accessories. I’m hoping these will be comfortable since they’re made by a company that also makes pointe shoes. These are the Rigelle Ballet Flats in Cappuccino Black Leather. Size-wise I’m a 7.5-8 depending on the brand and I decided to try a 37.5 in these since a 38 wasn’t available. Since they are leather I’m hoping if they are initially tight, they might stretch a little bit. I will definitely report back!
