Welcome 2021!

2020 is done. Whew.

I think it goes without saying that last year was a doozy, to say the least. Working in an emergency room during a global pandemic was not something I could have ever imagined when I was in nursing school or taking my boards or even taking those first steps on the orthopedic unit four years ago.

The past year has challenged all of us in ways that we could not imagine. In a matter of days the world’s doors shut and everyone had to learn and bend to a new way of living.

I am not a proponent of toxic positivity and I think that it actually causes harm. So I’m not going to sit here and type and pretend like 2021 is magically going to be better. What I will say is that with the development of the vaccine, I can finally see a light at the end of this very, very dark tunnel.

There will be some changes on the little ol’ blog here, including incorporating more nursing content (favorite nursing gear, conference attendance and continuing education, professional certification, and self-care as an ER nurse) as well as hopefully fingers crossed some travel content. And of course I will continue to share the lifestyle content I’ve had on here for, what, 10 years? I have recently migrated to SquareSpace and there is quite the learning curve so please bear with me.

Cheers to a new year!
