Favorite Hair Products
Now that I’m no longer coloring my hair, I have made quite a few changes to the products I use to care for my hair. On the recommendation of my hair stylist (who is amazing, I’ve known her since high school!) I switched to all Morocconoil products. Not only do I love the smell, but I really appreciate that these products make my hair feel healthy and more luxurious.
Morocconoil Treatment Light Hair Oil - I use this on wet hair before I blow dry. Even though it says it’s for light colored hair, I prefer this over the original because I feel like even when using a small amount of the original, my hair gets a little more greasy.
Morocconoil Mending Infusion Styling Hair Serum - I put two pumps of this in my hands and run it over my ends and on the top along my part after my hair is dried and brushed. I find that it helps keep my ends looking nice and my flyaways in check.
Moroccanoil Intense Hydrating Mask - I generally only use this once a week, either on Friday mornings after I’m done with work for the week or Sunday nights as I prepare for the next week. This mask doesn’t make my hair feel sticky or crunchy and rinses out very well.
Morocconoil Moisture Repair Shampoo and Conditioner - after using drugstore color-preserving shampoo and condition for a long time, I’ve really liked using these repairing products. I’ve noticed that my hair’s texture is changing to something more coarse and this duo really helps keep my hair soft and shiny. I only buy this when Sephora has their sales going on, as $80/duo is a little hard to swallow otherwise.
SILK Small Slipsilk Scrunchies - between many years of ballet and spending my last 15 years of healthcare with my hair pulled up/back, I’ve got some damage from elastic hair ties. I really love theses small ones as well as the large scrunchies to protect my hair while still keeping it out of my face. They do stretch out after a lot of use but I appreciate that they don’t cause more breakage.
Aquis Hair Flip Tool - for the last several years I’ve been using one of these hair towels instead of a normal cotton bath towel. In my experience it absorbs the water better and is easier on my hair when I’m towel drying. I have definitely noticed less breakage with this paired with the Slip Silk hair ties.
As I go down this grey/silver hair journey, I am finding that investing in quality products has really made a difference. I want to keep those beautiful strands looking as healthy as possible!
