We Bought A Camper!

B and I have been talking about buying a camper since last summer. While we love camping and the outdoors and hiking, I absolutely despise 2 things: pitching a tent and having to walk some distance to use a toilet. The couple campsites at Wisconsin State Parks that we went to last summer had a decent amount of people who were utilizing campers so after observing how many there were, we decided that come this summer, we would pursue the camper life.

After putting feelers out with our family and friends as well as spending a ridiculous amount of time looking through every RV dealer's inventory, we found out about a camper from a friend of ours - his in-laws were going to sell theirs. They were only the 2nd owners and used it a handful of times.

B went and looked at it first since I have been only going to and from work since this whole pandemic business started. He really liked it and took a bunch of pictures for me to look at and marinate on. The following weekend, we decided to go look at it again (I stood 6 ft from everyone, wore a face covering, and used hand sanitizer). I fell in love. It's the perfect size for 2 people and 2 doggos.

We went home, slept on it, and bought it two days later.

We bought a 2010 Forest River Sport Surveyor SP186 18 ft.

I will be showing pictures of the inside soon as a "before" but it has a bathroom with a shower stall and sink, kitchen area with a dinette that sits 2 people (which then converts into a bed), a refrigerator/freezer, microwave, double sided sink, and a full queen bed.

I've got a whole Pinterest board with inspiration for how I'm going to take this camper from straight out of the early 2000's to now.  The colors on the inside remind me of the OG Real Housewives of OC's houses - everything is brown/tan/beige/terra cotta colored and I HATE IT! My plan is to do a farmhouse style renovation, totally inspired by one of my favorite YouTubers Kristen Kasper. She and her husband just renovated a 1995 Aljo Travel Trailer.

Stay tuned for our renovation process and camper adventures!
