My First 6 Months as an RN

January marked 6 months since I began my first RN job. It has been the most challenging and rewarding 6 months I've ever had.

Working in an academic medical setting has brought so many learning opportunities for me. As part of my first year as an RN, I participate in a nurse residency program that has lectures and simulation about various topics to deepen our knowledge of topics that we can apply to our practice.

I am lucky to work with an amazing group of nurses that have a wide range of knowledge and experience. Every shift presents a new opportunity to learn something new or encourage my confidence in my practice.

In up coming posts, I will be sharing some scrubs brands that I absolutely love, my favorite tools to get me through my shift, and what I carry in my work bag. I'll also be sharing some of my favorite resources for nursing in general and NCLEX.

Happy Nurse's Week to all the nurses out there!
