2017 Dreams and Aspirations

Over the last two years, I feel like my running goals became stagnant. After my car accidents in 2014, I spent a whole year chasing a sub-2:00 half marathon and ALMOST hit it. But I've come to the conclusion that, due to the intermittent soreness that manifests in my knee whenever I work on speed, I'm probably never going to get significantly faster.

Ever since I completed my first half marathon, everyone has been asking when I'm going to run a full marathon. To be honest, the 26.2 distance scares the crap out of me. I can't really pinpoint why, it just does. Maybe it's all the hype and pressure around the "full marathon" that I was actively avoiding the whole conversation.

At The North Face Endurance Challenge this past September, I saw some very dear friends (and trail sisters!) conquer the 50K and I thought "That's amazing, I wish I could do that!" and then..."Why can't I do that?"


I met up with my friend Nora, who is a running coach and fellow Oiselle Volee teammate, and she reiterated my "Why not?" She gave me the confidence to move forward with  hitting my 26.2 and 50K goals for 2017! I'll be working with her to make these lofty dreams come true!

North Face Endurance Challenge 50K in September
