There are A LOT of compression products on the market. A quick glance on any website that sells running gear or through your local running store shows this: walls and pages of different brands of compression gear and accessories.
2XU has a variety of different compression gear for both men and women. There's the usual - sleeves for calves and arms, socks, shirts.
Then, there's the MCS Compression Line.

The compression tights I got were the women's MCS Compression Tights (I got an XS based on the size chart on the website which give you a size based on height and weight.)
2XU has used a "muscle stamping" system of graduated compression and muscle containment to provide a faster recovery and decreased muscle fatigue after exercise.

Having tried a lot of different compression products, I can't say that I've ever felt a significant different before/during/after running when wearing, for example, compression calf sleeves. So I put these to the test.
I ran the Brewers Mini on Sept. 26th and put these on immediately after my post-race shower.
Normally, I'm sore for 3-4 days after a race more than 5 miles, even with foam rolling and stretching. I noticed after wearing these for the rest of the day (I did not sleep in them because I don't like wearing anything tight on my legs to bed) I was significantly less sore than I expected to be the next day. Of note, I was also experiencing some knee joint pain which obviously couldn't be helped from compression tights.
The next test was wearing them DURING a race. I participated in The North Face Endurance Challenge Half Marathon, which was my second trail race of this year (well, and second trail race EVER). While these tights aren't super thick, I found that even in the 40+ degree damp weather, I wasn't exactly toasty warm, but I wasn't freezing either.

After wearing the MCS Tights from 6 am until about 2 in the afternoon when I got home, I changed into sweatpants and put these in the wash. I took a nap, thinking I would be sore and walking all sorts of funny when I woke up.
To my surprise, I woke up from a 2-hour nap without ANY soreness, which is an entirely new feeling for me. It wasn't painful at all to walk down steps, bend down to put Arthur's leash on, or get up from a chair or the couch.
I now wear these for most of my races and if not for the race, then FOR SURE afterwards. I've also been wearing them after my BodyAttack classes, since the HIIT and cardio definitely tires out my legs (so much jumping and squats!).
