Organization Goals for 2015

With every year comes new sets of goals. While I have lots of goals for different areas of my life, one of the big areas I need to work on is organization. And not just organization, but to go along with that, decluttering.

When I was searching one of our three (I KNOW, THREE) attics for holiday wrapping paper, I found boxes upon boxes of things that haven't been opened since we moved into this house (in July of 2010). I snooped around a little bit and was just dumbfounded by all the CRAP that we have shoved in every nook and cranny of this house. THEN I started thinking about all the STUFF we have and it kind of made me a little sick.

Therefore, 2015 will be the year of ORGANIZE & DECLUTTER.

I will be going room by room and getting rid of excess junk, then organizing what is left.

  • Kitchen
  • Living Room/Dining Room
  • Bathroom
  • Guest Bedroom/B's Office
  • My Closet/Office
  • Our Bedroom
  • The Attics
  • The Basement
At first I was thinking I could do one room per month, but then I feel like it would take too long and I would lose steam near the end. So for the month of January, I'm going to focus on the kitchen and bathroom to kick off the year. I also feel that since those are two of the most used rooms in the house, once they are organized they will hopefully stay organized throughout the year.

To keep myself accountable, I'll be posting here my progress including what I kept, what I purged, and what I did with the stuff that I got rid of.
