August Birchbox: Lighten Up!

My August Birchbox arrived today. I was so excited to check out what I got, but when I opened the box...I had the sads.

In my box:

Acure Organics Brightening Facial Scrub

What: Paraben-free, botanical-rich cleanser that gently exfoliates and boosts skin's radiance.
How: Massage a dime0sized amount into damp skin and rinse away. Great for all skin types.

Harvey Prince Ageless

What: This grapefruit-sandalwood blend leaves skin smelling youthful.
How: Apple to pulse points for instant freshness (and a spring in your step).

Marcelle BB Cream Golden Glow

What: A multitasked from the Chicago-founded brand rich in antioxidants and hydrating aloe.
How: Smooth a dime-sized amount over clean skin and blend thoroughly. Works for all skin types.

ModelCo Shimmer Bronzer

What: This lightweight pressed powder gives skin a natural-looking glow with a hint of shimmer.
How: Using a blush brush, lightly dust onto the hollows of cheeks, across forehead, and over chest.

Not Soap, Radio Happiness Inducing Body Wash

What: This aromatherapeutic cleanser will brighten your outlook while you lather. Paraben-free!
How: Massage generously into damp skin, breathe in the good vibes, and rinse away.

Well. Nothing blew me away when I first opened the box. The body wash smells alright and I can always use that. I will try the face scrub out but I have very low expectations since my skin is so weird when it comes to that stuff.

I have never and will never use bronzer. I'm too pale for that and it will make me look ridiculous.

ANOTHER PERFUME SAMPLE?! I'm so sick of Birchbox sending me perfume samples that I can get at Sephora for FREE.

When I see products that are listed as "for all skin types" like this BB cream, I automatically assume that it will make my skin look muddy. I have extremely oily and very sensitive skin. Lots of products make me break out. So if it isn't formulated for sensitive skin or oily skin, I don't even bother with it. I will be rehoming this BB cream to a coworker.

Mostly misses this month, which sucks, but I guess that's the luck of the draw.
