Weekend Recap
Well hello there, Monday! I love when I have Mondays off because then it feels like the weekend never really ends.
I'm soaking up these lovely, chill Mondays because they will not be lovely OR chill once the semester starts.
My first textbook for the fall that I had to add to the growing stack showed up on Saturday; yet another reminder that the start of the semester is slowly creeping up on us.
On Friday evening, my best friend asked if I wanted to go out for drinks. We decided to go to The Ruby Tap, which is a wine bar with a wall-long wine dispenser and you can also order a variety of meats, cheeses, and other delicious food to eat. One of our favorite things are the marcona almonds that are tossed in olive oil and rosemary.
After some wine, we went to Cafe Bavaria to meet B and his coworkers for drinks and some actual food.
Saturday was spent cleaning, decluttering, and purging the house. Our house is not a big one, and we simply don't have room for all sorts of extra crap that is just lying around.
Since the weather on Sunday was absolutely perfect for a pool day, we went to our friends' apartment and grilled out, then chilled by the pool.
My mom put together this shadow box with keepsakes from our wedding for us three years ago and we could never find a good place to hang it. I decided that I didn't want it sitting on the floor of our living room anymore and, with some moving of art on the walls, decided to put the shadow box and these photos up in one corner of our living room.
I cannot believe July is over halfway over! Make time slow down!
