Lakehouse Weekend Recap

Hello everyone! I hope no one had a case of the Mondays today!

Today ended my weekend with a perfunctory car problem. My coolant hose decided it didn't want to be in my car anymore and burst, causing coolant to leak all over my engine. This seems to be my jam when it comes to car problems. So tomorrow, we take my car in and cross our fingers that it's an easy fix.

On Friday afternoon, B and I mini road tripped an hour north of Milwaukee to spend the weekend at our friend's family's lake house. This is one of the summer traditions our group of friends started three-ish years ago and it's one of my favorite parts of summer. We bum around, eat delicious food, drink beer and wine and SkinnyGirl margaritas, and have fun on the beach (when the weather allows).

Most of the day on Saturday it rained, but I was working on finishing (rereading) the second book in the All Souls Trilogy by Deborah Harkness. The third book gets released tomorrow (OMG!) so I wanted to finish the first and second books before the new one comes out. If anyone wants me to do a book review, let me know!

Since it was rainy, cold, and foggy, we stayed in the house and played tons of games, watched Frozen, and one of the couples made delicious Korean beef tacos.

Sunday's weather was much more conducive to beach time and the temperature was perfect. The water was nice and calm (but REALLY COLD!).

You can't really tell in this picture, but B and his friend are in a yellow kayak out on the water in this picture. This was the only dark cloud that came our way on Sunday afternoon.

Wetsuits. I can't even with these guys sometimes.

And the requisite beach selfie. I used my COOLA sunscreen (for body) for the first time and really liked it! No burning and a slight amount of color.

We are hoping to spend another short weekend up there this summer; it seems to be the perfect way to recharge after weeks of work.
