July 4th Holiday Weekend Recap

And just like that, the holiday weekend is over!

I was supposed to have off work the whole weekend, but I ended up needing to switch with someone to get off work this coming Thursday so I worked 12 hours yesterday (and 8 hours today). The weather has decided its going to be hot and sticky, which is of course super pleasant. 

On July 3rd, US Bank sponsors fireworks down by the lakefront. Since I'm not one to camp out downtown for the whole day, I watched the fireworks from the comfort of my own home (in my pajamas and drinking wine. Like a boss.)

July 4th marked the last day of the Runner's World Run Streak! I'm happy to say I completed it and I can't wait until the next one they do!

B and I had a little cookout on the 4th and I decided nothing says 'Murica like chambray and tortoiseshell sunglasses. This is me chillaxin' in the lounger chair while B is trimming the hedges.

Riley was enjoying the sunshine and came outside to join us while we were setting everything up. He also wanted me to throw the ball...while he was holding it.

It's been awhile since I've hit up the socks aisle at Target because I have so many fun patterned ones. I happened to walk past and saw HEDHEHOG SOCKS! So of course I had to have them! I also picked up a blue pair that have unicorns on them.

On Saturday, I volunteered to help with packet pick-up for The Color Run at Miller Park. It was super fun and I got to meet so many awesome people! Next year I'm definitely running it!
