Memorial Day Weekend Recap
I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend! The weather here was absolutely perfect, so B and I took the opportunity to start our big summer project: THE YARD.
B and I bought our house 4 years ago this summer. I'm not a big gardener (I'm allergic to just about everything) and I usually kill plants but we shall see if I can keep all the ones I planted alive!
This is Riley's idea of gardening. He just wanted to chillax in one of our laps.
The top picture is the before and the bottom is the after. (This is just to the right of our garage.) We managed to keep our rosebush and get most of the weeds out and the hosta is hanging in there!
Before // After
Yeah, we haven't weeded the side in almost two years. It was very lush and full of WEEDS. Except for that lone pink tulip. We also planted a peony bush, so I hope it grows! It's rained quite a bit in the past day and a half, which makes me happy!
On Sunday afternoon, we went with a bunch of B's coworkers to BelAir Cantina, which is a local mexican restaurant that recently opened up a location closer to our house than their original location. I heard the tacos were AMAZING so I insisted that we go check it out. I had a fried avocado and bacon taco, a roasted veggie taco, and a baja tilapia taco. Everything was amazing.
I did my first Run Streak run last night (dodging rain drops...it started pouring as I was turning the corner to come back up my street) and I'm hoping I can actually achieve running (even 1 mile) every day.
Riley was hiding under the patio table on Memorial day while Mouse was carving the grilled turkey. Of course, he had to taste test it to make sure it was good.
Master Turkey Griller and Carver.
Hope you all had a wonderful Memorial Day weekend and remember the reason we have the holiday in the first place.
All gave some.
Some gave all.
