Friday Love List and #backthatazzup
Well, this week was
slightly better than last week, but not by much. By slightly better, I mean I didn't break down and consider switching my major from nursing to mortuary science or cry. But it was still a tough week.
I'm not sure how many of you keep up with the national news, but there was an incident with police and a suspect that happened to be carrying a concealed weapon at the hospital where I work. While I wasn't there at the time (luckily it was my day off) I'm so grateful no one was injured. I think that it's incredibly sad that places I used to consider safe havens, like schools and hospitals, aren't even safe anymore. It's a scary world that we live in, kids.
Anyways, to lighten the mood a little, here's a few things I loved this week.
I saw a picture of this adorable
tumbler from Starbucks and
fell in love. I mean, it has a tutu. I repeat, A TUTU! It's a collaboration between Starbucks and Alice+Olivia. Also, I ordered a copy of
Onward! by Brook Kreder and it came in 24 hours from Amazon. Amazeballs. I am the epitome of the generation of instant gratification.
This is my new favorite dish.
Spicy Sausage Pasta. And another reason why Pinterest is pretty much the best way to look for recipes. I like making it with rainbow rotini. The spinach and tomato noodles make it look so colorful and appetizing.
B and I are having our Christmas card pictures taken tomorrow and I have my outfit choices narrowed down to two sweaters...and of course it's supposed to rain tomorrow. Methinks I might go with the leopard print one just so I can wear the super chunky rose gold costume necklace I bought from BaubleBar for $20 and it's amazing.
Finally after searching for two straight months, I got my hands on Essie's After School Boy Blazer at Walgreens, of all places. It's a deep navy blue that looks awesome after two coats. I use the Revlon Gel-Shine top coat to make it look extra shiny.
This little fur ball's new favorite way to lay on the couch. His life is so awful, you guys. From sleeping 15 hours a day to getting his belly scratched with a wooden spoon (don't ask), he might as well just give up.
How I'm spending my Friday night: Lakefront Riverwest Stein, the new issues of InStyle (with J.Law on the cover!!!!), Runner's World, and trying out the Origins Clear Improvement Charcoal Clay mask. Yes, I live life on the edge. I have to make my face all pretty for the photoshoot tomorrow. Because my life is just that glamourous. :p
