Friday Love List & #backthatazzup
First off, I apologize for being suddenly MIA for the past two weeks. Being a level 2 nursing student is definitely not all its cracked up to be. Last night was the first night since my last post that I have gone to bed before 1 am. Between my two online theory classes and my two days of clinical each week, I have barely seen B and Riley is really not coping well with my hardly ever being home. I'm also still working 20 hours a week at the hospital, mostly Fridays-Mondays since those are the days I never have clinical.
Balancing out work, school, and personal stuff is definitely going to be an ongoing challenge during this academic year. These two semesters are the most challenging ones in my whole program, but I have to remind myself that I'm being challenged every day so that I can become an amazing nurse.
Okay, to lighten the mood, here's a few things I loved this week (and the past two weeks).
This little guy is the best study partner and has been increasingly tolerant of my clinical binder being on my lap instead of him. He's always chillin' around my feet wherever I'm studying.
I picked up this You+Sephora makeup bag a week or so ago. The makeup bag is super cute and comes with (from left to right) a pink lip gloss, gold glittery liquid eyeliner, and gold shimmery nail polish. This set was $20 and I believe $15 of the purchase goes towards a local charity of your Sephora's choice. My Sephora's charity was the Sojourner Truth House, which is an organization that helps homeless men, women, and children in Milwaukee. I'm totally okay with spending $20 on this little bag and makeup since a majority of the purchase goes to charity. How awesome is that?!
B and I celebrated our third wedding anniversary on September 3rd and while I spent the day at clinical for 4 hours, then at Starbucks studying, then at yoga, he was nice enough to go get me some BEAUTIFUL flowers that smelled amazing and seriously made my day.
After hunting for these polishes all summer, I finally found them on Ulta's website. This is the Butter London "The Royals" Limited Edition nail polish set. The colors are gorgeous and celebrate William and Kate, the new Royal Baby, and the Queen's Diamond Jubilee. From left to right is No More Waity, Katie, Pitter Patter, and Lillibet's Jubilee. These colors are absolutely gorgeous and I can't wait to wear them in the fall.
After spending most of my evenings reading about musculoskeletal disorders, post-op care, and nursing interventions, sometimes it's really nice to chill out with my favorite health-related magazines.
I went for a short run today between the bouts of rain we had (literally almost took me all day to get my run in) and tested out my new Garmin Forerunner 10 (that I will be doing a product review on after my half marathon in two weeks). I only ran 2.5 miles, partly because of the rain and partly because I have the beginnings of a cold, but any running is better than no running, amIright?! Also, Katy Perry's "Roar" is an awesome song to work out to. #jussayin
I'm linking up with Whitty over from I Wore Yoga Pants for #backthatazzup Friday!
