Bedroom Inspiration

When B and I bought our house in July of 2010, we looked at it as a blank canvas. It hadn't been updated since the 70's (or at least that's what we think!) but it has good bones and is the perfect house for first-time homeowners. Our home was built in the 1950's so it has the arched doorways (inside) and a cute little built-in shelf in the hallway off the kitchen. The original hardwood floors are in awesome condition; one of our projects for the spring is refinishing all the hardwood in the house.

Since we moved in, we have put our efforts into the common areas (living room, kitchen, bathroom, backyard) and our bedroom has been neglected. None of our furniture matches; we only just recently replaced our full-size bed. I managed to paint it a light blue/gray color last winter, as I was sick to death of the white walls. But that's as far as we've gotten. Thanks to Pinterest, I have a million ideas for how I want to redecorate it and make it a calm oasis to escape to at the end of the day.
